What is capitalism and environmental racism?
Capitalism is the economic system by which society functions. Massive environmental issues are caused by the corporations that produce goods and the consumers who consume these goods. In turn, these environmental issues have drastically shown to disproportionately affect Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) at a much higher rate than white Americans. These industries unethical practices perpetuate an ingrained racism.
